During my recent trip to China I had a chance to stay overnight in Shanghai. As it was just a stop over transfer, I was only able to visit a few places. These are some of the snapshots from the night and the day.
Shanghai Maglev Train
The international airport is connected to the city via Shanghai Maglev Train (SMT) which takes 7 mins, it's convenient and fast.  Very impressive!

Nanjing Road, Shanghai
Walking along the Nanjing Road. When I arrived at Shanghai it was the first day of National Day, which means the busiest time of the year. The street was like the river of the people all the way. I wouldn't call myself a fan of a crowded place, and this time I had no other choice and decided to enjoy it.

Volume Dance
The group of people were doing volume dancing in the middle of the street and this old gentleman must have known the moves to lead the lady.

Crowd Control
As way too many people were walking toward The Bund area, the traffic light was in fact useless. The policemen and soldiers were acting as a human barrier instead.
The Bund
Night scene of The Bund. Very beautiful indeed.

Street Moment

Little Bunnies
The following day I had another quick walk on the street. I realised again that it's difficult for me to take street images in the new place. I never been to the place, so I don't know what to expect. Because I can't anticipate the scene, I can't wait for the moment. It sounds a bit funny but it's true for me. I felt like missing the shot all the time.

Classy Telephone Booth
I thought this was a very classic design of the telephone booth. Whoever designed this telephone booth did try to create something extremely stereotypical I believe. And it succeeded. No matter how far you are it will not take more than .1 sec to recognise what this is.

Bamboo Garden
And yes. How can I skip this scene? The night view from The Bund. The city actually turns off the lights at 10pm to save the energy, but on the day they extended it till 11 so I was actually able to enjoy it. Although this long exposure shot definitely looks better than what I remember :)
