Recently, I haven't been around my blog for a long time.

I haven't been taken many photos in a way that I used to do. Personally, I have moved to a new home, and this hectic business of house hunting and moving had completely consumed me for a couple of months. After all the hard work, finally, I can have some sense of relaxation in the new place and am trying to bring my life back to normal again. At least I can confirm that the little passion I had for photography hasn't died out.

Besides moving stuff, nowadays, I can’t even bother packing a single camera other than my phone. Even after I have shrunk the size of my gear as small as Ricoh GR, I have come to the conclusion that the best camera to carry around is no camera at all. You just can’t beat the portability and the convenience of modern smartphones. Especially, thanks to the healthy competition between phone makers on camera, you only need a single tough to take a good quality photo. On top of an excellent camera, equipped with powerful editing apps, I don’t have any needs to use other cameras, at least for my own personal use. Although I know that eventually, my mood will change, and I will go back to my other gears, I find myself lacking the motivation to do so.

Because I use the mobile device for photography, typically I ended up sharing them on Instagram. I have tried other photo sharing services, but I found no services that can perform better than Instagram: simple interface, fast performance and a huge audience. I also quite enjoy navigating through the photos of the people who liked my photo. Not because I’m a person who can not live without googling my own name, but the quality of photos they share can be an adequate measurement of the quality of my picture; the honest mirror that can show you the brutal reality of your work. You’ve got to post a good photo to have the audience with good photos. You share crappy one, then people with crappy ones will like yours. So, when I see that my picture was merely as good as self-indulging selfies, I can only console myself with the phrase I have become very fond of, “No one cares about your photography”.

Until today photography has been my personal joy and it will continue to be that way. Let the simple fun continue.
